Jacksonville Transition!
This is the second part of our Professional Development Program. PPR International takes pride in providing you with first class care upon your arrival in the United States. We will greet you at the airport and welcome you to what will become known to you as home. You are in for an exciting week.You will stay in a hotel close to our home office and come in everyday for training. This week is very informative but also very fun. Below is an idea of what you will doing while in Jacksonville Beach.
Clincial Training: You may have quite a few years of experience in your current field but you will need some basic training on what to expect when you start working in the United States. This session includes daily group sessions to go over basic US practices as well as a one day tour at a facility to shadow someone in your field.
Cultural Training: Everyone knows that living in the United States is going to very different than what you are accustomed to now. This session includes a presentation about what to expect after you arrive in the United States and how to handle "Culture Shock".
Human Resources: In order for you to reap the benefits of what PPR offers you will need to know exactly what we do offer. This session includes training on our benefits package and allows you the opportunity to sign up for all benefits the PPR offers.
Personal Finance: Undoubtedly you will need to keep your finances in order when you arrive. This session includes training on how to complete your timesheets as well as how to budget your income to live comfortably in the US.
Professional Etiquette: Working in the United States will be much different that what you expereince now. This session includes a few helpful tips on what your supervisors are going to expect when you arrie at work - anywhere from dresscode to body language.
Quality Management: In order to work in the United States there are certain certifications, licenses etc that must be maintained. This session includes training on what those documents are and how to keep everything in an active status.
Safty and Self Defense: Since you will be new to this country PPR wants to make sure you are prepared in any situation. This session includes training on basic safety and awareness.
Computer Training: More likely than now you will be using computers to document your cases. This session includes training on basic computer skills.
Social Security Number: In the United States, a Social Security number (SSN) is a number issued to citizens, permanent residents, and temporary (working) residents. It is issued to an individual by the Social Security Administration of the government of the United States. The primary purpose is tracking working individuals for taxation purposes and to track Social Security benefits, but it is also used for other purposes, such as getting a telephone, driver license or cell phone. We will take you to the nearest Social Security office so you can apply for your social security number as soon as possible.
Bank Account: While there are many banks to choose from in the United States, PPR International will take you to a bank deemed to have outstanding customer service to set up an account for you. PPR International recommends you establish a checking account and a savings account. The checking account can be used for the convenience of direct depositing your paycheck with a portion of your check going to your savings account, if you so desire.
